This is fairly weird. The idea was Iran would stop striking Israel at midnight (eastern time), and Israel was expected to stop striking Iran 12 hours after that. Then, after another 12 hours, the war would be considered "over" by all.
So the Iranians potentially had got another additional 12 hours of strikes to endure even after they were expected to finish?
Maybe this accounts for why the Iranians are still firing ballistic missiles at Israel, after the time they were supposed to stop.
Anyway Israel is going to retaliate.

This desire to end wars on behalf of Team Trump is admirable, but the way he does it, ie "in a day" "announced by tweet" "agreed by one party (his mate) whilst imposed on the other (the one that he publicly humiliates)", might not be the absolute best way of going about it........?
The jury is still out for Wiley.

Israel and Iran are anxious to get in their last strike last so it cannot be said the ceasefire has arrived. Iran were a bit unlucky in that their after-time (but after whose time, and is it when you launch or when it hits?) strike killed five Israelis in an Ashdod block of flats so that means 5 x the current quotient of Muslims must die in their turn.
The PR spin isn't helping:
* According to the Americans, Iran and Israel came cap in hand to the Great Man begging him to end the conflict.
* According to the Iranians, the Americans came begging to them etc etc
* According to the Israelis, Netanyahu informed Trump they'd pretty much wrapped it up so he was free to act the Great Peacemaker.
According to my synthesis of the news reporting, it was Iran's mock retaliation on the US base that started the peace process. (Both an olive branch and unconditional surrender.) But the Trump team deserve genuine credit for going into overtime with both the Israelis and the Iranians (or at least their cutout, the Emir of Qatar) to come down off their high horses pronto in stages. So what's next?
Well, Netanyahu is last man standing so I guess it's Eretz Israel.
