Visually one nation appeared to know that the threat was predominantly airborne.

If the Wuhan Lab-leak was the source of COVID, does that explain the draconian lockdowns that President Xi then put in place, ie were the Wuhan scientists who had engineered the virus, advising these lockdowns were essential and why? |
Question 2
Why did WHO take over a year to admit that transmition of COVID could be aerosal/airborne?

WHO had all of us thinking that we needed to do regular cleaning, deep cleaning of areas, doorknobs, taps etc which was unfortunately not the major threat.
Why? |
My take:
1. Xi knew what the virus was (engineered to kill). Definitely not deliberately released (at least not by Xi).
2,3,4. WHO knew what the virus was but the designers told WHO that it would definitely not be airborne. Either they lied or they were surprised themselves.

I'm a bit out of my depth here (truly) but doesn't the wearing of masks indicate that everyone knew it was airborne from Day One?

If only it was so simple.
It was Anthony Fauci who said, in a moment of scientific candour, there was no point wearing a mask because the virus is so small it just goes straight through it. Then someone said, hey, surgeons wear masks all the time so it must be a good idea and everyone agreed, including Mr Fauci. What they forgot is that the surgeon wears a mask mainly to protect the patient, not the surgeon; the mask prevents germs (but not viruses) going into the patient from the surgeon.
Then someone else said hey, viruses only travel 2 metres in air so if you stay 2.1 metres away from everyone you’ll be totally safe. But since nobody knew how far 2 metres was (of course apart from the virus) they stuck loads of big stickers on the floor and made sure they would stay there forever.
In summary, at first the virus travelled in the air but not very far, but in the end they decided the virus was airborne - presumably meaning it’s floating anywhere and everywhere and therefore, we’re stuffed.

Thanks, Bri, now I'm an expert on viruses. I wouldn't say a world authority but I soon will be saying it.

If the government had listened to experts and implemented the same strategies used in other countries a hundred and eighty thousand lives may have been saved, the Covid enquiry was told today. Channel 4 News |
Let's just run that through the AE AI generator
If the government had listened to some experts rather than other experts an unknown number of lives would have been saved. |
The Channel 4 News report went on to say:
The UK's death toll was down to political decisions rooted in arrogance and a dangerous belief that Britain was somehow different. |
Or as the AE/AI DG has it
The UK death rate was down to political decisions rooted in bewilderment and in the knowledge that Britain was, in some ways the same as, in other ways different from, other countries. |
