Does Magnetic North heading towards Siberia have any impact on these things?

It is not heading for Siberia, according to SLOP. Nor is it, except notionally, according to the official map in your URL. It is heading, according to SLOP, for the equilibrium point of the magnetism created by the earth revolving round all the recent true North Poles. I was entranced by the current explanation

And as the iron and nickel inside our planet shift, so does Earth's magnetic field

Even by their standards, the notion of mineral deposits moving around underground by distances and over times entirely at variance with plates moving around is a weird one. It goes back to the earliest 'scientific' explanation for there being a Magnetic Pole at all: there were vast iron deposits oop north. If so, I reckon compasses ought to be seeking out Sweden.

I don't know why they've decided nickel--a decidedly rare earth mineral--has entered the picture. Perhaps it sounds more scientific. It is of course our old friend, the bogus list.

I would expect a better class of pedantry from you Harpo.

"Towards" is a vector, with direction and speed.

"For" is a place.

Heading is the operative word. Towards and for are immaterial in this context since neither you nor officialdom are claiming intent on the part of the magnetic pole. But feel free to expand on your theme if you wish. I rather enjoy these little sallies.
