I have a nice collection of antique newspapers. I found this a number of years ago and thought it might spark some discussion.

Archaeology of the Month
Dr. William Bell read this extract from a German paper to the British archaeological Association:
Runic stones have been found on the Potomac, which may be accounted as an evidence that America was visited by the Norsemen possibly a thousand years before Columbus. Their early settlements in Greenland and Iceland would require little extension of their daring navigation. |

Prof. Barry Fell has an excellent book "America BC"
So too has Charles C Mann with "1491: New Revelations of the Americas before Columbus".
Both have startling evidence gleaned from old newspaper reports and private collections along with detailed photographic evidence.
Mainstream science is yet to accept much of what is challenged by the evidence in these and other books
In the words of Stephen Levitt "If you learn to look at data in the right way you can explain riddles that otherwise might have seemed impossible".
