It would be more helpful if you could just say when something is funny or not funny. It's not difficult though it might require tact.
But this is of wider application for posts generally on the AEL being interesting or not interesting etc. We get precious little feedback from outside as it is. If we don't get anything generated internally what chance is there of any improvement/ change of direction/ anything at all.

I had to nick into Sainsbury's to get potatoes and grabbed the nearest pack. When I got home, what horror! I had got... potatoes. You know the ones we used to eat when we were kids. Not baby ones, not new ones, not salad ones, not specialty ones, just medium-sized nothing ones.
I didn't know what to do with them. I tried boiling them (at least you didn't have to peel them which is an unacknowledged boon of modern supermarket life) and they were edible in a boring sort of school-dinner way.
I suppose I will have to either mash or in-their-jackets the remainder. Not a mistake I will be making again.

PS I think it is time for the mandatory use of emojis.

If you consult our Rules, emojis are specifically banned from this site. However this was in the days when emojis were in their infancy and mostly employed by infants. I am inclined--and the Executive Board agrees with me--to let them rip from now on. With moderation.

Tell the Executive Board to extract their digit and employ some percussion on the employee who was supposed to upgrade the AEL forum software.
This is what the forum should now look like.

You mean have the page unreadable because somebody has posted up an oversized pic? I would tell you how to downsize it but every time I try, my own post goes a bit weird. It takes the symbols literally. So I will email it to you and then, when you have applied it, I will take up what may well be a valuable contribution.

The AEL Executive Committee (or their minions) chose phpBB as their Bulletin Board (forum) software.
It is still running on phpBB version 2, published in 2005.

Please do. You have told me before, but that's in some "safe place" and I cannot find it.
Better still?
Have it in a FAQ topic in the Basics category, and then we all know where to look.

While I've been fretting over how to resize an image, M'Lady wandered past.
She kindly enquired:
What are you wasting time on now? |
I did explain that I was trying to solve a problem with the interweb.
In quick response, she suggested:
If those AEL people are all so clever, why aren't they solving the mysteries on MumsNet? |
Here it is:

My email did not help, Borry? I will explore the FAQ solution but nobody looks there. But it involves stringing together
<
img src
="URL
" width
="600" />
where URL is your pic and 600 can be varied. I've put it like this so it doesn't know what I am doing and puts up a big square blank thingy.
