There's the Gundestrup Cauldron (said to be 200 BC or 300 AD). Said to be "The cauldron is the largest known example of European Iron Age silver work." Take the date or leave it, but if it's a fake, it's right on point.
It's got quite a few squattermen top-halves. I spot three of them. Maybe:
This entire panel is really interesting to me:
It's interesting because of these two strange convergences:
#1, note the squatter, the wheel, and the hunting scene, from Utah. Plus, I cropped the image; if I hadn't, we'd also see a snake just like the cauldron:
#2, note the Master of Animals and the wheel (this time, Indus Valley):

This is a curious ankh + personified Djed Pillar. It seems like a hodgepodge of symbols here. Even the two women, if seen from the front, would look about like squatterman. The monkeys too.

If this were heraldry it would be read as two supporters attendants seated on their haunches, but with bodies erect. Both arms are in the "rampant" position,
We often see see this symbol with lions as supporters.
The main figure is affronté facing us.
There is a difference between the two supporters in headgear, this could be a way into the image.
If it was heraldry the right (from your perspective) is the sinister side, the wife's father, the one on the left is dexter, the husband side.

Yes, heraldry! It had to come from somewhere. What the rock art and the heraldry have in common is their iconic nature.
Commonalities:
* Central figure or pillar.
* Arms rampant.
* Flanking animals.
* The basic shape of a cross or an X.
* A sun disc or wheel overhead.
* Sometimes horns, headgear, headdresses (eventually crowns?)
* Sometimes standing on top of some animal Examples:

Why do they give the unicorns cleft hooves? My daughter's unicorn books have this, too, and I chalk it up to bad AI illustrations and Chinese quality control (or lack thereof)

Dieu et mon droit.
The shield holder is "affronté" ie facing you, he carries the shield in his left arm, that is the sinister weaker satanic side. On the dexter, or right side, the Knight would carry his sword of justice.
This is why whenever Boro holds a dinner party he of course places Mick on his right side, in the favoured guest position.
You might want to disregard this, as Wiley is only ever invited to do the washing up.

Did anyone notice the differences between the English and Scottish versions?
English version has an extra lion on top of the crown.
Scottish version has some strange red squatting bear(?).

My eyes are not good enough to see the detail, it also appears to be a red lion "Sejant-Erect" with the sword on the dexter side, and a sceptre on the sinister.

Does this help?
Linked from elsewhere.
Note: Having to do it the hard way because phpBB doesn't let us do something simple like pasting a screen grab directly into a post.

It is a lion. The motto appears Glaswegian in origin.
"You fuck with me at your own peril".

The pillar becomes a tree or it becomes a god, all holding up the world/universe:
Pillar with Cosmic Wheel on top
Tree with Winged Sun Disc on top
God (Egypt's Shu) with the Cosmos on top
God (China's Pangu) with Planets on top
God (Atlas) with Globe on top

Other than embellishment (or maybe refinement) I don't see a lot of difference between the following:

Or this:
And I think there's a pretty good argument that the two things on either side of the figure are comets.
