Kashrut laws are about health, the permitted animals are farmed not wild ie. safe to eat.

Isn't there a large section of Kashrut law that is inscrutable even to Jewish scholars? Classified as God-knows-the-reason-but-our-minds-can-not-be-expected-to-understand.

Anyways, what is considered safe to eat is not an objective judgment, is it? And besides, one of the rules is to check that it seems OK -- which could be applied to anything. And anyways, what really is safe to eat depends on the habits of the farmers/animals and the consumers.
