Though funnily enough the Ukrainians have the most reason to. Currently the pipelines mainly go through Ukraine (and are still in use.) How does that work? Milo Minderbinder, thou shouldst be with us now.

The senile president had already boasted earlier this year that the US can stop the pipelines. Strange how it happened after several marches in Europe against Russian sanctions and the election of the new Italian leader.

Prez: Do we have the technology to blow up submarine pipelines?
Mad scientist: Are you kidding? You could do it yourself with a stick of dynamite on the end of a fishing line.
Prez: Any special reason to do it now?
Mad scientist: Are you kidding? There was a bloke in Bad Hammerstein holding up a placard saying, "End Russian sanctions".
Prez: Do it. Do it now. (Dies.)

With so much racism in the world, it is nice to see a leader who can be both "inclusive" and "welcoming", he even relaxed his normallly super strict social distancing rules, when they all touched touched hands at the end of the rally. I had a small weep at this point. It was just a shame he didn't get his top off, but maybe he is saving that for his next performance.

There's a strand on Al-Jazeera called Al-Jazeera Investigates, their contribution to investigative journalism. Currently it's running three (so far) one-hour progammes called The Labour Files outing the party as racist. The series is based on a huge cache of leaked emails from Labour HQ, plus interviews with (some of) the principals, interlarded with comments from Peter Oborn, a Tory gadfly. This is awkward for Al-Jazeera which is broadly supportive of Labour but it turned out that Al-Jazeera is broadly supportive of the Left of the Labour Party.

The first two were about the campaign to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn and centred on the Party's anti-Semitism. Actually it showed pro-Israel Labour members were dab hands at presenting people who were pro-Palestinian to be anti-Semitic and that the Labour hierarchy knew that Corbyn was box office poison and needed to be got rid of. By mild but routine dirty tricks if necessary. The whole campaign failed when Corbyn proved in 2017 not to be and was able to get Corbynites to take over the hierarchy, thereupon proving in 2019 that he was after all. And was got rid of by natural processes.

I could see no sign of racism among either the hierarchy or the rank-and-file save a couple of obvious nutters.

Last night's offering concerned Labour's general racism i.e. towards black and Asian people. It began with outing a secret (i.e. private) What's App group of Labour right-wingers in the hierarchy cabaling against Labour left-wingers. This was presented as rankly racist when they were in fact perfectly ordinary exchanges of the kind you would expect of any in-group talking about an out-group.

Item: black Labour Liverpool councillor complaining they were being racist when organising a coup against her in Liverpool.
Actualité: Momentum didn't get any momentum.

Item: Diane Abbot complaining they were exploiting her Type Two diabetes in a disgustingly racist way.
Actualité: Diane didn't show up to a critical meeting when she knew whichever way she voted would be bad for Diane Abbot, citing she was too ill to attend.

Item: Asians in Newham complaining they were being kept out of office on racist grounds.
Actualité: The ruling group in Newham outsmarted a bunch of people in their crooked attempts to take over Newham council.

I could see no sign of racism among either the hierarchy or the rank-and-file save a couple of obvious nutters.

Smart Newham Muslims realised that Respect was a waste of their time, so spotted the opportunity of joining up Labour under Corbyn. They did this in numbers, so you got a coalition of Muslims and Corbynites, a sort of Islamo Socialist mix that had the numbers to take the council. Last time I looked Rokhsana Fiaz was still mayor, in fact she is now endorsed by Labour bigwigs. It will soon no longer be Islamo Marxist but Islamo Starmer. There is nothing criminal here, it's a question of numbers and recognising that the Islamo bit is simply intent on winning, not in either Corbyn communism or Blairism.

I beg to differ. You must have spotted that landlord who had a dozen houses in West Newham all of which were filled with tenants who were members of West Newham Constituency Labour Party. One of whom was himself despite his car always to be seen outside a more salubrious home in East Newham. I know Asian landlords often have Asian tenants, I know Asians often vote Labour, but I've never seen an ad in the Evening Standard

Tenants wanted for Newham house-share. Must be member of West Newham Labour Party.

Richard Dawkins
Rev Richard Coles -- ex-Communard "I always vote Labour"

Rufus Hound -- alternative comedian
Geoff Norcott -- alternative comedian

Billy Bragg

Nimco Ali -- activist (female genital mutilation)
Gina Miller -- activist (not leaving the EU)

Channel 4 News' coverage of the Affair Braverman yesterday was extremely significant. Not so long ago this would have been uniformly hostile with only a single nutter voicing his (they are always male) support for her anti-immigrant policies. This time they all seemed to be nutters with a lone spokesperson giving the immigrants' point of view. The liberal intelligentsia are getting the Red Wall/Brexit message that there are things up with which the British lumpenelectorate will not put.

I may have to switch sides.

It's a bit unfair slagging the government off for 'not solving' the cross-Channel boat-surge. It is equally unfair to blame them for overcrowding in the reception centres. Whatever you think of the Rwanda policy, the very first time boat-people are taken from Manston aerodrome to Luton Airport and placed on a jet plane bound for sunny skies, there won't be another boat launched. And it was the courts that kyboshed that. Though they didn't, as I remember, they only reserved judgement until October. We shall have to wait for October.

If they guess wrong, I wouldn't want to be in an ermine wig with Sue-Ellen on the warpath. She's got your number!

There is a public school code that says you never sneak to Sir about something one of your fellow pupils did. Braverwoman sent a message to the wrong MP who immediately reported her to the beak. Come on, Sonny, you old Wykehamist, send round the school bully to sort him out.

Newsnight is really ramping up the rhetoric. Apparently all our immigration ills are down to the Home Secretary referring to an 'invasion of our south coast'. Students of these things will remember Margaret Thatcher's use of the word 'swamping' and how it was hung permanently round her neck by liberals (and led to her winning three elections in a row).

Quiz question: When tens of thousands of young men illegally pitch up on the beaches under the white cliffs of Dover
what is the English word that best describes this?

But now it is not only domestic etymologists we have to put up with. There was a prolonged interview with the Albanian prime minister, the mealy-mouthed nature of which was a wonder to behold. But not by the Newsnight interviewer who egged him on shamelessly. Just to remind everyone, La Belle Braverman did not refer to an invasion of Albanians, it is just of all the nationality groups involved theirs is the only one that absolutely, no question about it, have no claims to be either refugees, asylum-seekers or fleeing poverty. As Mr Albania said, in no uncertain terms, ours is a modestly prosperous democracy that doesn't persecute anyone. But how dare British people refer to us invading anyone.

So why are they heading our way having paid thousands of pounds to to do so? It is because the last Tory Home Secretary-but-five (Theresa May) passed the Modern Slavery Act. And ninety per cent of the Albanians are found to qualify!

Wanted: Modern slaves
Must be young, male and fluent in Albanian.
Applicants should be willing to consider any job offer
but a career in crime is available on request.
Apply to People-Smugglers R Us, Tirana, SW11
Bring a passport (preferably your own), five thousand euros
and a copy of the Human Rights Convention.

A most astonishing story on Newsnight. The woman who has been appointed the official rep for stalked victims in London has herself been stalked for nineteen years. Her persecutor had been jailed four times for breaching orders, the time before last for four years. The last time it was for two years which meant he was immediately freed on licence having been on remand for nine months. This outraged the victim but non-plussed the police (from the Met's Specialist Stalking Unit) who didn't know what to do, so the stalker walked free without the necessary restrictions.

It is little wonder that of half a million cases of stalking known to the police, only zero point one per cent ever get prosecuted. And yet there is a further problem beyond police indifference and incompetence. This geezer has spent nineteen years and several years in prison for what precisely? Not by getting any overt if nefarious pleasures, not by committing crimes in the obvious sense, but just hanging around near her, phoning her, bothering members of her family etc etc etc. It does not matter, the victim's life is damaged beyond measure whatever he does or does not do. The woman is entitled to society's protection but how can this possibly be achieved when it is perfectly clear that prison is no deterrent. He cannot be stopped short of sticking him inside for life and this cannot be done given our societal norms.

We encountered the same problem with terrorists. It is clear that some of them (the trouble is we don't know which some) will start blowing us up as soon as they are freed. Yet they cannot be banged up for life for the things they have been convicted of. It truly does seem an insoluble problem.

You’ve just solved the problem but in your mealy-mouthed liberal way can’t see it.
LOCK THEM UP FOREVER

90% of crimes are committed by 100,000 people. LOCK THEM UP

The USA tried it in the time of Bill Clinton and it worked. Now the liberals are in charge prisoners are being freed, and crime is soaring
