Online etymology says
Shit
O.E. scitan, from P.Gmc. *skit-, from PIE *skheid- "split, divide, separate." Related to shed (v.) on the notion of "separation" from the body (cf. L. excrementum, from excernere "to separate"). It is thus a cousin to science and conscience.

'Separation' is interesting. Hermetic knowledge/science is associated with underground or hidden knowledge.

He wears them to protect his heels

Boots protect the ankles. That's the vulnerable part that can be hobbled. It was Achilles' weak spot, where his mother held him.

What we now call the john was a Jacques in Tudor times. Jack keeps coming back.

This isnt mirror writing at all. You have merely substituted numbers and punctuation for letters.

Heart of the hunter...Brain of a pignut.

Look. I've only been going on about this "separation/division" thing for several years now.

Shit is a double-form of Zone/Tzar. The original is literally "tzar-tzar." This doubling is found in many words. I don't really know its meaning except..... oh I just got it!

It's the division from many things divided within themselves! (or the separation from many separate things, if you prefer).

Shit = Sit
Shat = Sat
Shot = Shoot

Gunshot literally looks like animal shit. I know this very well from my days as a six-year-old hunter.

Another thing about 'Thrice-Great Hermes' resonates with his roles as god of animal husbandry ....a third for the hunter, a third for the birds and a third for stock.

Aha lets try a tricky bit of three symbolism.

So Hermes sacred animal Hare.

In fact Hermes is linked to constellation = Lepus.

Located below Orion the hunter....(aha)

http://bit.ly/h42kdb

Its a visual trick count the ears on the hares.

Its similar to a (tresk)elion or (triq)uetra. Threefold rotational symbolism...

Hermes the trickster.....

Its in The Book.

Its also in N8s notebook pages...

the trickster.....

Trick is apparently 'from French', triche (to cheat, deceive, fabricate, etc.). The derivation can't really be known though interestingly tricoter, to knit, has a triangular sense, three-sides (tri + cote).

It also recalls binding, mesh, netting, so back to ankles and hobbling. Trickery has overtones of promiscuity and not just in English.
